Croatia and the EU

Croatia and the EUMinistry of Finance performs tasks connected with international financial law and the Croatian financial legal system adjustment to the acquis communautaire of the European Union. It also performs activities linked with the management of the EU aid funds implementation which fall within the area of jurisdiction of the Ministry of Finance.

Since the negotiations with Croatia on joining the European Union have formally started on 3rd October 2005, the Ministry of Finance, during 2006, participated, dealing with the total of 12 negotiation chapters, in analytical review and estimation of the national legislative alignment with the EU acquis communautaire.

In connection with the tasks of the Croatian financial legal system alignment with the EU acquis communautaire, pursuant to the National Programme for the Integration into the European Union, it is planned to pass laws and sub-laws which the Ministry of Finance has proposed for adoption.
